Sarnath

SARNATH LIGHT AND SOUND SHOW TOUR PACKAGE

SARNATH is one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in all of India. Buddhists believe that this was the spot where Buddha delivered his first sermon after gaining enlightenment. Sarnath derives its name from Sarangnath or the Deer God. The deer park at Sarnath is the place where Buddha gave his first sermon. Today, the deer park is a huge enclosure made for the deer to roam around freely. It is a wonderful place for those who are seeking solitude and peace. The main tourist attractions in Sarnath are the Stupas, excavated ruins of monasteries, Ashoka Pillar, Deer Park, where the Buddha delivered his first sermon, Dhamekh Stupa, Bodhi tree, Moolgandha Kuti Vihara and Archaeology Museum - home to an outstanding collection of Indian sculpture and carvings from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD ( Museum remain closed on Friday).
 

In this tour, you will be met at your hotel in Varanasi by the expert and escorted in a private, air conditioned vehicle to Sarnath (approx. 5 miles). You will visit to the oldest museum of Archaeological Survey of India, India’s government agency responsible for archaeological research.  You will take a walk “In the footsteps of The Buddha”, which traces his life from his birth as Prince Siddhartha to the time he gained enlightenment and became ‘The Buddha’.You will see one of the surviving Ashoka Pillars in Sarnath. You will also see many Stupas, or shrines, and Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, a Tibetan Buddhist shrine which contains a life-size golden image of the Buddha and colorful murals and frescoes painted by a Japanese artist.

Later we will take you to Dhamek Stupa for LIGHT AND SOUND SHOW. As soon as the sun sets down we the ancients Dhamek Stupa light up to the visuals of Buddha’s life. The entire complex gets alive through the voice of legendry Amitabh Bachchan. Sarnath light and sound show start at 0630 Pm and lasts for about 30 minutes.

The show starts with a small introduction of Varanasi and revolves around the life of Gautam Buddha and ends with an introduction of Sarnath area.

Once the Light and sound show will finish, we wil drop you back to the hotel.
